Taking a good refreshing bath doesn’t always have to be boring! This guide will show you what to do in the bath when bored. Some people don’t like to spend a lot of time in their bathtub, whereas others can easily go for several hours without getting out.
If you like to take baths, there are quite a few things that you can do to keep yourself entertained while you are bathing. Remember, your bathtub is not just for cleaning yourself up.
There are several things that you can do to keep your mind sharp and active and even get other stuff done while you are in the bathroom.
From singing to meditating to doing whatever you like, there are quite a few activities that you can take part in when you are taking a bath. Baths may seem a bit more tedious as compared to hopping in and out of the shower.
However, that doesn’t always have to be the case. As long as you take your time and plan for everything accordingly, the time you spend in your bathtub could be some of the most memorable hours of your week.
Now, without further ado, let’s talk about some of the many things that you can do in your bathtub.
What To Do In The Bath When Bored
Sing Away!
You would be hard-pressed to find a better room in your house with acoustics as good as your bathroom. The sound reverberates and this makes it the appropriate stage for you to let your vocal cords loose.
It’s an excellent way to let yourself loose and just sing along to your favorite music. Music has proven benefits, as it helps you relax your mind.
That’s not all, but because you won’t have to worry about anyone disturbing you, you can sing as loud as you want. Just remember that you might end up disturbing your neighbors if you blare the music too loud!
Read Your Favorite Book
What better way to soak in information than when you are lying in your bathtub? Reading is an excellent habit as you will always be stimulating your mind and learning something important or useful.
Even if you are not reading a self-help book, you can just engross yourself in a fantasy novel or indulge in a romantic novel.
The bathroom is an excellent place as it offers peace and quiet. Just be careful not to drop the book into your tub, as that’s going to ruin it permanently.
Study
Have some studying to catch up on? You may want to bring a textbook into the bathtub with you. Granted, you won’t be able to solve complex mathematical questions in the tub (although Archimedes had his Eureka moment in his bathroom!).
However, you can always catch up on important topics and brush up your knowledge about different courses and subjects that you are currently pursuing.
Turn Into the Radio
Want to catch up on the latest news or just listen to your favorite radio show? Why not just buy a portable, waterproof radio and turn it on?
Radios are no longer sold conventionally in the market, but what you can do is connect your waterproof Bluetooth speaker to your mobile phone. Just turn on the radio and you are good to go.
Listen to a Book
If you don’t want to read a book on your own, you might as well listen to one! Why risk bringing a paper book into your tub? Just turn on an audiobook on your Kindle using your waterproof speaker, and you are good to go.
If you don’t want anything loud, why not just put on your earphones and listen to it while you rest your head on the edge of the tub?
Make Your To-Do List
Do you have a grocery list to make or need to work on your to-do list? This is as good a time as any to ensure that you get the job done. It’s better than just sitting around.
Again, you have to understand that there won’t be anyone disturbing you in the tub, so it’s a great time for you to do things that you have been putting off for a while, such as completing your shopping list or working on your targets.
This is also a great time to set your goals for the upcoming weeks or months.
Work on a Problem
Many people like to talk to themselves when they are in the bathtub. It’s an excellent time to work your way around a problem that you have been putting off for quite a while.
There’s no one around to judge you or comment on your problems. If you have some underlying stuff that you need to work on, this is as good a time as any to do it.
Work on a Speech
Got a presentation or speech to give? Why not practice it in the bathtub? If you have a crazy imagination, you can just think that you are sitting in front of a massive audience, and practice your speech.
It’s a great way to work on your speaking skills in silence. You never know when you might need to speak in front of an audience.
Bring Your Partner
If you don’t want any alone time and would like to spend some time with your partner or a friend, you can always do that. It’s a great way to bond with the other person.
Taking a bath with your partner will help you build a strong bond with each other. There are also other benefits that you get from this.
For starters, when two people bathe together, a considerable amount of water is saved. Many people like to bathe with their dogs as well, so if you are up for that, why not?
Bring a Bottle of Wine
The feeling of drinking wine in the bathtub is completely different. If it’s the weekend, why not lie down in the tub and drink a bottle of wine?
It’s an excellent way to unwind and relax your body and mind. Just don’t plan anything later on, especially if you are a heavy drinker!
Your Personal Tea Party
If you don’t like to drink alcohol, there are always other beverages that you can choose from. Why not bring a cup of Joe or brew your favorite tea and bring it with you?
If you are getting into the tub on a cold winter morning, it’s an excellent idea to just get in the tub and bring a hot beverage along with you.
It will help you kick-start your day when every fiber of your being will simply be shouting for you to just jump back into bed.
Throw in a Bath Bomb
A bath bomb is an excellent way to take a bath without getting bored. They are available in a whole host of different hues and each of them offer different effects and fragrances.
The entire bath water is going to turn into a new color, and they will also improve the aroma throughout the bathroom. It’s just something that you would want to add if you are bored with the ordinary bath.
There are quite a few different bath bombs available for you to choose from. If you start using them consistently, you will have quite a bit of fun shopping for them. They are relatively inexpensive as well.
Go for a Bubble Bath
It might be an old technique, but it’s one that’s definitely going to keep you entertained. Just create lots of bubbles and start playing with the water in your tub!
Go back to the days when you were a kid and liked to just play around in the bathtub. It’s always fun to let loose!
Put on a TV Show!
If you really want to take a bath in style, why not install a TV on a mount on the wall opposite your bathtub? It’s the ultimate way to relax.
You can just lie down, put on your favorite show, and binge it for as long as you like. However, it’s important that you keep all of your electronic items away and don’t let them fall into the water.
Remember, avoid plugging your electronic items into the wall because if there’s a water droplet anywhere, it could lead to a serious short-circuit.
You really don’t want that. However, if you hire a professional to install the television set into your bathroom, they are going to make sure that the wiring is properly concealed. However, this is an expensive undertaking.
The moisture in your bathroom is going to reduce the life of your television set by less than half. If you don’t like to spend a lot of time taking baths, putting a TV in there might not be a worthwhile investment.
Start Meditating
Many people have the wrong idea about meditation. They believe that meditation requires a considerable amount of elaborate thought, where you have to sit in one position for long periods of time in a quiet and peaceful place.
You don’t actually need to sit cross-legged to meditate. In fact, meditation is simply the practice of not thinking. Instead of not thinking, to make this happen, meditation just requires you to focus on your breathing.
It sounds simple enough at first, but you will realize that it’s much easier said than done. Your mind is constantly whirring, throwing a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions at you all the time.
When was the last time you gave your mind a break? The best way to do that is by just closing your eyes, putting your head in a comfortable position, and not thinking. When you are in the bathtub, you can do all of that and more.
It’s one of the best spots to think and meditate. On top of that, you should know that the benefits of meditation are seemingly endless. It doesn’t just relax your mind, but it also makes you think better and helps you get rid of mental fatigue.
Light a Few Candles
If you want to maximize your experience of being in the tub, why not light a few scented candles? Candles are an excellent addition to any closed space.
You can choose several different scents and light them up to create an elegant feel throughout the bathroom.
Start Caring for Your Hair
When was the last time you took proper care of your hair? Most people don’t realize this, but your hair requires care on a daily basis.
You have to apply shampoo and conditioner consistently to keep your hair in prime condition. When you are in the bathtub with not much to do, it’s a great way to pass the time.
Shave Your Body
Another excellent way to use the time in the spa is to shave your legs or other parts of your body. It’s much easier to shave in the bathtub because there’s natural lubrication.
The line of sight is also much better, as you will be staring down on your legs. This will make it easy for you to wash and clean yourself up as easily as possible.
Learn a New Language
Did you know that the time you spend in the bathtub can be utilized for learning a new language? Not only is it a great way to pass the time, but you will soon start looking forward to learning new things.
If you have always wanted to learn how to speak French or any other popular language, why not take it up whenever you take a bath?
Learn How to Hold Your Breath
What better place to learn how to hold your breath than the bathtub? Simply submerge your head under the water and see how long you can hold your breath.
As you continue to practice over time, your ability to hold your breath for longer periods of time is going to improve. It’s an excellent way to learn a skill that might come in handy every now and then.
Now that you know what to do in the bath when bored, why don’t you try any or all of the above activities to ensure you have a refreshing and memorable bathing experience at home?
